We play golf in accordance with the rules of the R & A and they produce a handy Rules App which you can download to your iPhone here; R & A Rules App.
The FFS Committee...
The FFS Committee is made up of;
Flynn Law (Captain, Chairman & Chef)
Michael Saville (Secretary & App Co-Ordinator)
Paul Alexander (Director of all things Golf)
John Rogers (Treasurer & Wake-up Alarm)
Male & Female FFS members all start playing off of a maximum handicap of 36 and under 18's a maximum handicap of 54.
Handicaps are adjusted by the FFS app in accordance with the WHS system. Players will need to submit their round sinto the EG app to keep their WHS handicap current. Anyone who doesn't/can't do this will have their handicapo adjusted by the follwoing method;
Scoring over 36pts = -1 off their hcp
Scoring less than 32pts = +0.1 to their hcp
An annual handicap review may take place by the FFS committee (prior to the start of each season - Nov), leading to manual adjustments for some players whose handicap seems out of sync with their recent performances.
New attendees to an FFS golf day/event are expected to play off of 2 less than their official club or confirmed handicap in their first event. After their first event, the Handicap Committee may agree to allow the player's handicap to increase. Exceptions to these rules can only be granted by the FFS Committee.
To enter into 1 of the season's 'Major' competitions, a player must have either;
1. Played in at least 5 FFS games since the preceeding major
OR
2. Played in at least 8 FFS games since the start of the current season.
If a player does not qualify under the above rules, they can still enter & play subject to an entry fee of £10 max, reduced by £2 per event played since the last major.
